Some of the audience feedback from the second draft

Feedback

I gathered some feedback from this 2nd draft so that I know how I can improve the video for the final draft.
I did this by asking people to watch my video and then  answer questionaires, emailing people for feedback and posting the video on facebook.

Music video draft 2

This is my second draft of the music video for this one I have added more effects to make it more abstratct such as 'ghosting' which cretaed a sense of surrealism. I also overlayed some shots to show contrast between business were i would film a busy scene such as a road with lots of traffic with a shot of her in an empty field that seemed a lot more peaceful, alons side this I change the speed so that she she was often slow and everything else was faster. To portray the idea of her being stuck in time whilst every one else is carrying on.

Magazine advertisment draft2

I havnt adapted this much from the first draft but I have tried to neaten and tidy it up in places where it looked messy, for example the clock hands were out of plcae and looked to messy so i have got rid of some and also re aligned them. i have changes the font in plcaes for example "available in store and on itunes 24th april 2014" to make it stand out more. i have made the font "character" bolder and edited it to get rid of some of the rough edges, i then experimented and played around witht some of the filters and i decided to add the 'texturiser' filter to the clock but then i also added it to the rest of the image and text to create continiuity throughout the poster.
i then added a saturation onto the images so make them seem like thiere coming out of the clock a bit more and to add some vibrancy to the images.

ancillary text experiments

I tried experimenting witht the layers and effects to get a suitable colour for the ancillary text photo.
I want to ensure that the image reflects the video, and looks abstract and confusing as well as conoting time running out.

Production! ancillary texts

For the ancillary texts (digi-pak and magazine advertisement) I used adobe Photoshop, a software installed onto the computer. I am experienced in using this, as I used it throughout my As and A2 media courses along with other subjects and GCSE courses. Photoshop is a suitable software because it provides all the tools and effects needed for producing texts of professional standards.

production - Music video

To produce the music video I am using adobe premier pro on the editing suite above, I have never used this software before producing my coursework music video, but in this time I have learnt a lot about how to edit, and use effects. I have found premier pro to be an efficient way of completing my coursework and it is very easy to use.

for this shot I used a pan of her and a pan of the field and I overlayed them so there was two pans at the same time creating a sense of confusion and business because of the movement and the lights in the background, yet also quite peaceful by using the empty field.

For this shot I did the same again, I overlayed a shot where I stood in the middle of a busy road filming the traffic with a picture of her spinning round, to portray the difference of business and calm along witht he freedom of her personality with the structured traffic, I sped the traffic up to make it seem faster. The idea connotes her been stuck whilst the business of everyone elses lives is happening around her.

These next 3 shots show me in producting on premier pro editing my music video. the images show how I have altered the speed, how I have overlayed clips and how I have cut the clips to the right time and length.

I have tried to alternate shots between traffic that connotes business with shots of her on her own, to connote the business of everyone else whilst she is stuck in the same place. Also the contrasting between speeds is a convention of abstarct music videos.

Music video draft 1 - Coldplay, clocks

This is my first music video draft, it is unfinished as I had problems with the SD card I used. I had to use a different model in parts to try and fix this, for my final video I am going to make some of the shots shorter as I have realised they are too long in places, I also need to put a more varied range of camera angles in and have realised that in places where I have one longer shot I can change it too lots of shorterer shots from different angles and distances.

I have taken feedback from a variety of people of different ages:
My dad said I need to film more clocks, as this has a close connection with the song name, he also said he liked the spinning shots as they create a sense of confusion but I should add more of these to create a greater sense of confusion.

First draft of the magazine advert

First Draft of the digipak

This is my First draft of the digipak for my music video, I have included the packaging and the design for the two CDs that will fit into it.
I have used photographs throughout to make a constant link with the actress in the music video, also the idea of clocks because the original song that I chose is called "clocks".

Experiments for my first draft - Magazine advert

When asking people which draft they preferred, I found that the majority of people liked either the first one or the third one. I then made my decision according to which one I though looked most professional and I decided to go with the third one as I prefer the images used in this one and I think having more imagery within the clock is more effective.
